Misogynoir in Maternal Healthcare is an immersive 360° narrative experience retelling the story of Kira Johnson, a Black woman who died in 2016 from preventable complications after childbirth. Moving through two environments; a bathroom and a hospital, the viewer witnesses her story unfold through her husband Charles’ perspective. Each space contains interactive objects highlighting the systemic dismissal of Black women’s pain in healthcare settings. Kira’s story serves as a testimony to structural failure in maternal healthcare.

Misogynoir in Maternal Healthcare est une expérience narrative immersive qui retrace l’histoire de Kira Johnson, une femme noire décédée en 2016 suite à des complications évitables après un accouchement. À travers deux environnements : une salle de bain et un hôpital, le spectateur est témoin de son histoire du point de vue de son mari Charles. Chaque espace contient des objets interactifs mettant en lumière le rejet systémique de la douleur des femmes noires dans les milieux de soins. L’histoire de Kira témoigne d’une défaillance structurelle dans les soins de santé maternelle.
